Baekkook Reservoir
Baekkook attracts the serious bass anglers, and is relatively close to Seoul. Electronics help on this lake to target suspending fish. There is a boat rental service that offers small boats with electric trolling motors. Baekkook is popular for kayak tournaments, which are normally held on Sundays. With that being said, many anglers like to get their practice in. It is also a popular waterskiing and jet skiing lake- so practice boater safety. Baekkook maintains decent water clarity year round and has some deep areas (60-75 ft). There are two streams that flow into Baekkook. These inlets have some nice flooded timber and bushes. When the water is low, focus on the main lake where there are rocky walls and nice points. Sometimes you will see bass feeding in the middle of the lake. Using electronics to locate schools of bait fish can dramatically increase your fishing success.
Fishing tips- Casting accuracy is very important. Avoiding low hanging tree limbs and placing your fly at the base of a submerged trunk is often necessary. Big baits are also used on Baekkook. Slow rolling a 10 inch articulated pattern along a rock wall can induce strikes.
