This year Korea saw record amounts of rain and several passing typhoons. This has made the fishing very unpredictable. Productive spots have changed while others remain unfishable. It’s not all doom and gloom though, the trout fishing has been very good. The rivers are running unseasonably high (which is good in this case) extending the nymph fishing bonanza. Bad news for dry fly purists though. The evenings are getting cooler and the seasons are starting to transition. It's anyone’s guess as to the reliability of the fall bass feeding. From what I have experienced so far is that it is happening, just in shorter increments. Meaning the feeding window is very early in the morning or very late in the evening. If you can find clearer water, this will help out a lot, as many places look like pea soup still.
Patterns for bass: anything that pushes water, such as bulk heads or muddlers. Weedless variations of these maybe needed.
Patterns for trout: Put away the big dries and juicy nymphs. Size 14 and 16 peasant tails with gold or orange beads are producing. Smaller caddis fly larva will also do the trick. For dries, size 12 blooms caddis and 10-14 klink hammers are getting it done.
